How to open a Gameboy Classic/Original
This tutorial will cover opening the Gameboy fat/original/classic, whatever you want to call it.Depending why you want to open your Gameboy you may not need to follow all the steps in this tutorial so if needed it is ok to skip certain parts.
Short explanation of some icons you will see in my tutorials:
These circles show the location of any screws that need to be unscrewed in the current step.
The screw icon in the bottom right will show how many screws need to be un-screwed in the step.
Danger! Well, probably not but if you see this it just means there is something you should be careful with in that step.
What You Need

- The Gameboy! Mine is transparent, for tutorial purposes it should be better.
- Screwdriver! A cross head screwdriver (size PH0-PH1 is ok), and a Trigram screwdriver (Y0-Y1 is ok). I got my set from here and i can say it is a great set, has heads for a million screw types (including the rare Gameboy/NES cart security BiT screw!)
- Something to store the screws! Really, it is annoying looking on the floor for tiny screws.
Oh and i reccomend a soft surface to avoid scratching the screen.
